Why Shoreline Strings?

When planning weddings and other events with live musicians, many people automatically turn to string quartets.  As a trio, Shoreline Strings offers an appealing alternative.  

• We play on high-quality, matching instruments that offer a full and rich sound that equals any string quartet in the area.  

• As a trio, we offer a superior product at a more economical price than string quartets.  

• We are all principal players in Holland Symphony Orchestra and members of the Holland Symphony Orchestra String Quartet, providing some of the best string playing in West Michigan.  

• With three members, our trio takes up less physical space than a string quartet.  

• With Shoreline Strings, you deal directly with the musicians.  We do not have a manager or any other middleman.

Where does Shoreline Strings play?

We perform at events throughout West Michigan.  We are located in Holland, Michigan, and play in cities ranging from Muskegon, Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Grand Rapids, Allendale, Hudsonville, Jenison, Zeeland, Saugatuck, Douglas, Fennville and South Haven and beyond.

We play at churches for weddings, services, and funerals.  We play at restaurants and reception halls.  We play at corporate headquarters.  All we need is a space about 8 feet square, three armless chairs*, and an electricity source (for our music stand lights) if the location is dark.

Shoreline Strings will also play outside under the following circumstances:

• We require a shady location or tent covering, as direct sunlight is harmful to the varnished wood of our instruments.

• Temperature must be above 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

• If it is raining, even slightly, shelter needs to be provided (preferably with sides).  If any rain is blowing into the shelter, we cannot play until the rain subsides due to the valuable nature of our instruments.  There is no refund under these circumstances. 

*For events approximately 30 minutes or less chairs are not necessary--we are happy to stand.

Does Shoreline Strings offer a quartet option?  What about a duet or solo string player?

Shoreline Strings regularly plays with a few professional cellists.  We are happy to provide a quartet for your event.  There will be an additional fee for the additional musician.  See pricing page for more information.
